Podcasting in the Classroom

Journal Exercise: What are the approaches you can take with podcasting in your class? List three uses featured in the video and click the link provided to explore "ideas for your classroom." Would you use any of these ideas? If so, which one (s)? How could you use the ideas for teaching slavery with your plan?

Watch the ten minute video on podcasting. Pause the video and reflect in your journal as you feel necessary. After viewing the video, review  this site with ideas for your classroom. Pick a podcasting tool and create a sample podcast about your slavery lesson plan. You can record your voice through your phone and Google Voice, a product available to you through your Gmail account. Select it in the Google products menu, the same place where you selected Drive. Follow the directions at the site to publish an mp3 audio file to use with the podcast tool you choose.  Once you have created a test podcast, reflect in your journal and then move on to the next Web 2.0 tool - Blog.

Journal: Create a list of effective and ineffective attributes that you identify within each podcast you explore. What could you forewarn your students about when they complete your assignment  using a podcast?
